Process and working arrangements

How can I send my document?

You can send a legible photograph or scan of your document by WhatsApp or email, or visit our office during business hours without an appointment. For most procedures, you do not need to bring the original document.

When is the original document required?

For procedures requiring notarisation, the notary may request presentation of the original document or a certified copy. You will be informed of this after we receive your request.

Is a photograph of my document sufficient?

Yes, if all the text is legible. Seals, stamps and handwritten sections must also be clear; otherwise, information may be missing from the translation. Photograph the document on a flat surface, without shadows, with the entire document in the frame.

How will I receive my translation?

You can collect it from our office or request courier delivery to your address. Translations that do not require notarisation can also be sent by email.

Can I find out what stage my job has reached?

Yes. You can check the status of your job by telephone or WhatsApp.

Sworn translation and notarisation

What is the difference between sworn translation and notarised translation?

A sworn translation is certified by a sworn translator with their own stamp and signature. A notarised translation is additionally authenticated by a notary. These are different procedures, and not every institution accepts both.

How do I know which one is required?

The requirement is determined by the institution requesting the document. If you send us the document checklist from the institution where you will apply, we can clarify the required type of authentication together.

Are notary fees included in the translation fee?

No. Notary fees are set and charged by the relevant notary office. Translation fees and notary costs are explained separately.

When is a notarised translation required?

Notarisation is often requested for consular and visa applications, qualification recognition procedures, court and enforcement files, and company incorporation procedures. However, this is not a universal rule; requirements vary between institutions.

Apostille and legalisation

What is an apostille?

An apostille is an endorsement issued under the 1961 Hague Convention that authenticates the signature and seal on a document. It is accepted in countries that are parties to the Convention without consular legalisation.

Where can you obtain an apostille?

For administrative documents, the competent authorities are provincial governorates and district governorates; for judicial documents, it is the Presidency of the Justice Commission of the First Instance Courts of the Judicial Judiciary in centres with a high criminal court. As notarised documents and notarised translations are classified as administrative documents, their apostilles are obtained from a provincial or district governorate.

How much does an apostille cost?

No fee is charged for apostille endorsements issued by provincial or district governorates. For an electronic apostille obtained through PTT via e-Devlet, a service charge is collected for each document. Translation and notary costs are separate in all cases.

Can I obtain an apostille for my document through e-Devlet?

An electronic apostille (e-Apostille) is available through e-Devlet for certain documents, such as criminal record certificates. You can check on e-Devlet whether your document is eligible.

Should the document be translated first or apostilled first?

The order depends on the institution receiving the document. In common practice, the Turkish document is apostilled first, and the document and apostille endorsement are then translated together. Some countries also require a separate apostille on the notarised translation.

What happens if the country is not a party to the Hague Convention?

An apostille is not valid in that case; the document is authenticated by the relevant ministry and then by that country's consulate in Türkiye. This process is called consular legalisation.

Pricing and turnaround

How is the price determined?

The price is determined by the number of characters in the document, the language pair, subject specialism and urgency. A fixed amount is quoted after the document is reviewed, and this amount does not change on delivery.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery time depends on the length of the document, the language pair and whether notarisation is required. We confirm a definite delivery date after reviewing the document.

Do you charge for a quotation?

No. Quotations are free of charge.

Is there different pricing for bulk work?

Pricing takes account of multi-page files and work containing repeated text structures. If you share the document list, a single quotation is prepared for the complete file.

Documents

Which documents do you translate?

Our principal areas of work include civil registration and identity documents, educational records, legal and commercial documents, medical reports, technical documentation and maritime documents. Please contact us about documents that are not listed.

Which source is used for spelling names?

For documents to be submitted abroad, given names and surnames are written according to the Latin-script spelling in your passport. Sharing your passport's identity page is important to avoid later corrections.

Are barcoded documents obtained from e-Devlet accepted?

Barcoded e-Devlet printouts are accepted for many procedures. However, a document bearing an original signature or a certified copy may be requested where notarisation is required.

What happens if there is an error in the translation?

If an error attributable to the translation is identified, it is corrected free of charge and, where necessary, the notarisation is renewed.

Confidentiality

Who can access my documents?

Your document is accessible only to people involved in carrying out that job: the office employee handling the request, the sworn translator producing the translation, the second translator reviewing it and, if notarisation is required, the relevant notary's office.

How long are my documents retained?

Translation files are retained for two years from completion of the service to allow for possible corrections. They may be deleted earlier at your request.

Do you sign confidentiality agreements?

For files containing trade secrets, a written confidentiality agreement can be prepared at your request.
