Our translation bureau's team

Established in 2016, İdeal Translation Bureau specialises in official document translation in Pendik, Istanbul. Our founder graduated from Ege University's Department of Translation and Interpreting. Before starting work, we establish which institution will use the document, the required language and the type of certification, then prepare the translation accordingly.

İdeal Translation — our approach

What sets us apart

Straightforward and transparent

  • We explain requests outside our scope at the outset

If we do not have a sworn translator in the required language or cannot meet your requested delivery time, we make this clear at the outset.

  • The price is agreed before work begins

After reviewing the document, we confirm the translation fee, which does not change on delivery. Charges set by third parties, such as notary fees and courier costs, are itemised separately at the outset.

  • We do not recommend unnecessary expenses

Translation fees, notary fees and any requested courier costs are explained as separate items. If an institution requires an apostille or consular legalisation, we provide information about preparing the translation; we do not submit or manage applications to those institutions.

  • The receiving institution's required format is confirmed in advance

Not every institution accepts sworn translations; some require notarisation and others require an apostille. We start preparation after establishing the requirements of the institution you are applying to.

Frequently Asked Questions

What you want to know

Straightforward answers to the six questions we are asked most often.

What is the difference between sworn translation and notarised translation?

A sworn translation is certified by the sworn translator's own stamp and signature. A notarised translation is additionally certified by a notary. They are separate procedures and not every institution accepts both; you need to establish in advance which type the receiving institution requires.

Does my document need an apostille?

Confirm whether an apostille or legalisation is required against the receiving institution's current requirements. The type of document, country of issue and intended procedure all matter. We can provide information about preparing the required translation; we do not submit or manage apostille or consular legalisation applications.

How much does an apostille cost?

No official fee is charged for apostilles issued by provincial or district governor's offices. For e-Apostilles obtained through PTT via e-Devlet, a service fee is charged per document. Translation and notary costs are separate items. Our bureau does not submit or manage apostille applications.

Where can I obtain an apostille?

For administrative documents, provincial governor's offices are responsible at provincial level and district governor's offices at district level. For judicial documents, the responsible body is the Judicial First Instance Court Justice Commission in centres with high criminal courts. Notarised documents and notarised translations are treated as administrative documents, so their apostilles are obtained from provincial or district governor's offices. Electronic apostilles are also available through e-Devlet for certain documents, such as criminal record certificates.

Do I need to bring my document to the office?

Usually not; a legible photo or scan sent via WhatsApp or email is sufficient. Procedures requiring notarisation may require the original document or a certified copy; we will explain this at the outset.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery time depends on the length of the document, the language pair and whether notarisation is required. We confirm a definite delivery date after reviewing the document.

Guides

Understand the process first

In official applications, submitting the wrong document can be the most costly mistake.
