How does the chain work?
As Qatar is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, Turkish documents are prepared in the following order:
- Notarised Arabic translation, or English translation depending on the institution
- Approval from the district governor's office or governor's office
- Certification by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Certification by the Qatari Embassy in Ankara
Some documents may require additional certification by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs; this step is generally completed in Doha by the sponsor.
Work visa documents
- Diploma, mandatory for most skilled positions and requiring the complete chain
- Criminal record certificate; pay attention to the recency requirement
- Experience letters and professional certificates
- DataFlow primary source verification for healthcare professionals
Obtain a written list of the documents and approvals required by the employer or the institution receiving the application. We can provide information about preparing translations to meet this request. We do not provide application or procedure follow-up services for consular certification.
Family residence
For family sponsorship, marriage and birth certificates are required with the complete chain. In some cases, a standard birth certificate plus a translation is requested instead of the multilingual Form A; preparation should follow the official list obtained by the sponsor.
Whether documents are required in English or Arabic varies by institution; schools tend to require English, while government offices tend to require Arabic.
A warning about timing and sequence
Steps in the chain cannot be skipped: the embassy will not process a document that lacks the preceding certifications. The most common setback is adding the translation to the chain too late; translation is carried out at the beginning, and all approvals are applied to the document together with its translation.
For documents with a validity period, such as criminal record certificates, plan appointments with the relevant institutions consecutively to avoid delays in the chain.
Frequently asked questions
How long does document preparation for Qatar take in total?
The notary and district governor's office stages are brief; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassy stages depend on appointment arrangements. Allow for a timeline measured in weeks overall, and communicate employer deadlines accordingly.
Will an English translation be sufficient?
Usually yes for internal company and school procedures; government offices require Arabic. We prepare the translation in the language stated on your sponsor's list.
